April was a comeback month after a very subpar March.   I am very excited about my video recordings having an extremely productive month, where I got back o pace to my goal. In addition, I talk about a new project that I am working on this month.

My 2018 Goals

A Day Of Giving Back!

IMG_1502.JPG

Today my High School is celebrating a day of giving back.  I wanted to devote today of giving back as well.

Last night, there was a group post that someone started to thank the teachers of our high school.  As a result a nice thread was created.  Naturally, I chimed in as well to thank some of the teachers that had a profound impact on my life.  I wouldn’t have become the person I am today if it wasn’t for these teachers.  All of sudden as I was writing and thinking about the teachers, students, and others involved in my high school community, I got choked up.

The great thing is that I still have great relationships with many of those people today.  We still see each other at events and reunions.  This is why I stay involved in my high school community as well as donate to the school.  Having this community is one of the great gifts that I have in which I am incredibly grateful for.

As you know following my goals, I planned on making 2018 a year that I am going to consistently give back which I set a goal of donating $1,000.  So far, I am ahead of pace at that goal.  Next year, I plan on donating more as well as getting involved in a project.

As a result of placing this initiative of giving this year, my life has been full with joy.  I have never experienced such gratitude and fulfillment by applying giving back into my life.

The great thing is that it does not take much money and it does not take much time to give.

As I mentioned in another video, we need to take care of ourselves first.  We need to make sure our glass is full before we pour water into someone else’s glass.   The great thing is many of us have the means, even if it is such a small amount we take out of our paycheck.  I myself am starting small this year.  I do not want to get overwhelmed by going from 0 to 90 mph in a second.  I want to make it challenging, but make it a reachable goal with me donating $1,000 this year.

Two easy ways to make sure we stay in a giving mode:

  1. Remember every small money donation or time counts.  Even if you find something that will not exceed 30 minutes per month would be giving back.
  2. Spend time with people are caring, compassionate, and those that give back.  It is like hanging out with driven people.  You eventually become driven yourself.  It is the same way where you will be inspired to give back.

Getting Your Day Off To A Great And Fast Start!

adult-adventure-backlit-915972.jpg

All of us want to make and have our day to be outstanding.  We all want to get the most out of each day and be productive.

Listed are some methods to get your day off to a fast start.

  1. Get up early:  When I mean get up early, get up bright and early.  Be competitive.  Be the first one  to get up and beat everyone else.
  2. Spend some quality time by yourself
  3. Meditate
  4. Journal if you have one.
  5. If you have a morning ritual, do it.  If not, create one
  6. If you work out, do so.  Go to the gym and work out.
  7. Get to work early too.
  8. Get the stuff that you dislike done first.  For example, get the most fearful things out of the way first.  You need to make that dreaded phone call, make it early.  By doing this, you set yourself up for a productive and happy day for the rest of it.  You also gain great momentum to accomplish your goals.

How To Constantly Improve The Quality Of Our Lives

IMG_1474.JPG

I want to discuss the acronym that I heard many years ago from Tony Robbins that he adopted from a gentleman named Dr. Edward Deming.  Dr. Deming went to Japan during post World War II where the country was at rock bottom with very little resources.  You couldn’t even make a phone then.  Dr. Deming, an American, implemented a practice to restore Japan as a country and its economic structure.  The word that was used is “kaizen”  which means “good change” or “progress and improvement”.

Dr. Deming convinced the Japanese that quality was the foremost in manufacturing and business.

As a result of implementing the word kaizen, the economy and reputation of Japan grew drastically.  Companies such as Sony, Mitsubishi, Honda, and Toyota evolved and helped Japan become an economic super power in the world.

May decades later, great life coach Tony Robbins applied the same principles that we can use similar to the Japanese.  The word that Tony created is called, “CANI”.  CANI means Constant And Never ending Improvement.  CANI gives us the ability to look for ways we can constantly grow, progress, and improve in any area of our lives.  The areas can consist of business, health, emotions, relationships, etc.  We are either growing or dying.  We are either going up or we are going down.  There is no constant in life.

Stop Doing This

IMG_1313.JPG

Are you living your life to please others.  Are you constantly saying yes, when you want to say no.  If you are doing these things, my advice is simple: Stop doing this.

Those who are consistently pleasing each other have tremendous challenges speaking the truth in uncomfortable situations.  They are usually internally passive aggressive (externally at times as well).  As a result, they lack self esteem, self love, and are unfulfilled.  Unconsciously, they are pleasing others to get something in return.  However, they are not communicating to the other person their needs or desires what they want in return.

Also, pleasers say “yes” when they want to say “no”.

Here are some strategies to stop people pleasing:

  1. Get real with yourself:  identify your intent and why are you pleasing.  Right down a journal and have the courage of being honest with yourself that your life conditions do not match your blueprint.  Create the blueprint and life you want to live on paper.
  2. Know who you are pleasing:  identify the people in your life that you are pleasing and why are you pleasing them.  Is it to keep peace in the family?  Is it because you believe that person could give you something in return?
  3. If you say “yes” all the time when you want to say “no”, start saying instead, “let me get back to you”.  By doing this, you can evaluate on the cost and benefits of saying “yes”.  If saying “yes” serves your vision and life desires, then “yes” is the answer.  If saying “yes” is going to cause an inconvenience to you even short term, “no” has to be the answer.
  4. Know and review your goals:  Need to clarify and understand the direction of where your life is going.  When you have goals that are transparent, you will know what direction you want your life to go.  Thus, take action towards getting these goals achieved.  Know where you want to be next year, next month, one year, and even five years.  Then say “yes” when a task is meeting these goals and objectives.

The Ten Frameworks Of Freedom!

DefaultKnockOutIMG (1)

In Gary Ryan Blair’s 100 Day Challenge, he covers the importance and significance of freedom that we need and strive for in our lives.  Gary states, “The opportunity to enjoy and continually expand your personal freedom is what distinguishes high and low achievers”.

Here are Gary’s ten essential frameworks of freedom:

  1. Idealistic Human Freedom: Become the person you want to be.  Aim to make the world a better place and express passion beliefs.
  2. Time Freedom: Increase quality and quantity of free time, which is a byproduct of achieving and working efficiently.
  3. Energy Freedom: We can cut loose the energy drainers in our lives and we can be free to be the best of ourselves.  We free up the best abilities and meet new and inspiring people.
  4. Strategy Freedom: Allows us to be more proactive.  We can achieve more with less effort and greater enjoyment.
  5. Relationship Freedom: There are no more knuckleheads.  We get to choose who we have relationships with.  We have a much more settled life and can no longer make excuses.
  6. Money Freedom: Doing what we love will make us the most money.  We will be true to our ideals and follow our passion and make more money.
  7. Focus Freedom: Focus our attention and our abilities on what is truly important in life.
  8. Value Freedom: We can add more value.  We will be more successful by increasing our value to more and more people.
  9. Success Freedom: We make it possible the creation of adding extraordinary and unique value for others.
  10. Future Freedom: Imagine a bigger future and create a great legacy.  We have the freedom to imagine a great future.

What are your top three freedoms from this list that you want to pursue?

Pursuing, Staying, And Sharing Your Dreams

clouds-nature-palms-6741.jpgI heard an inspiring quote from Marie Forleo, “Stay on your game, and keep pursuing your dreams.  The world needs that special gift that you only have”.

We need to stay on our path with our goals and dreams no matter how difficult and frustrating it gets.  There are always going to be bumps in the road.

If we stay with it long enough, naturally good things are going to happen.

I have been one to give up in the past, and I can tell you that giving up is never the answer.  We have a tendency to start something new, stop, and start another new project and never get anywhere.  This pattern can lead to regret,  and regret is a very painful emotion.  We never get to the finish line in this pattern.

I also had some great wins too, when I stuck with something and persevered.  When I started running in middle school, I always finished in last place.  Yet, I never gave up and as a result I improved my running.  I started finishing races in the top three and even won some of these races.

We have to know that we cannot just focus on ourselves and that our dreams are not just for us.  Our dreams are for our loved ones and for the world.  By living our dream, we are serving others.

When we focus on serving others, we will be pulled into the direction of our dreams.  We need to remember the world needs us.

The One Main Difference Between Successful People And Others

accomplishment-action-adventure-461593.jpg

In this blog, I wanted to talk about the one difference in people.

What makes someone who is always constantly growing in every area of their life while others are stagnant?  What makes one who has a successful business while others are just getting by barely?

The answer is one word, and that word is hunger.  What kept Walt Disney going after being turned down by over 300 banks for a loan to build a theme park?  How is a 6th round draft choice in the NFL Draft turn out to be one of the great Quarter Backs to have played the game of American football (Tom Brady)?  It is because they are hungry, resilient, and willing to do the things that others are not willing to do.  They make the necessary sacrifices, while others would just give up.

Great leaders, teachers, and coaches can teach you anything you want to know.  What they cannot give you is hunger.  A great motivator cannot give you drive, at least not sustainable drive.

Trust me, I know what it is like not to have the drive and not to want it bad enough.  I failed in many instances, where I know if I was hungrier, I would have succeeded.

Some people were born with hunger and drive.  However, that is not the case in most circumstances.  Michael Jordan’s hunger came from being cut from his High School basketball team.  Most of us develop that hunger to be successful in any area of their life by saying, “I’ve had enough!” or “That’s it, no more!”.  There is always a failure or something that puts us over the edge.  As a result, that is why failure is a great thing at times.  Times of failure is when we ponder.

Hunger will lead to fulfillment.  Hunger will elevate you to get you to the next level in your life.

Here is some ways that you can start to develop a desire, drive, and hunger.  Remember though, no one can give you hunger and no one can give you drive.

  1. What is your why:  If we do not have a why, we will not ever come close to starting anything that will improve the quality of our life.  We need to visualize what we want to see our future the way we want it to be, or better yet, what we must have it to be.  Spend quality time to write down your whys.  Once that is completed, review them on a daily basis.
  2. Get around people who are hungry.  It is said that we are the average of five people we spend the most time with according to Jim Rohn.  Do not spend time with people who complain and bring you down.  Get some hungry friends.
  3. Create consequences for not meeting your weekly goals.  We need to create massive pain to not making the call and not following through.  Give money to charity or better yet, donate to a cause that you do not support.
  4. Change your state.  Changing your state can mean changing your focus, changing your language, or changing your physiology.  Changing your physiology is the fastest way to change your state.  Move your body more rapidly.  Speak faster and stronger.  Stand up straight.  Changing your physiology alone will elevate your confidence level and drive to follow through.
  5. Get an accountability buddy.  This is the most important thing on the list.  If you do not do the other four, do this.  If you are going to take your life to the next level and sustain your hunger, get an accountability buddy.  An accountability buddy can mean hiring a coach or someone to partner with to hold each other accountable.  Meet at least one per week to review your goals, wins, accomplishments, and areas that need improvement.  Also share what did not go well.  Create some consequences with each other as mentioned in step 3.  It is important you get someone that cares about you and is looking out for your best interests.  Please note though that this person cannot be family, a close friend, or someone you are in a relationship with.  This person needs to be outside of that realm that will not have any conflict of interests.

My March 2018 Monthly Goals Report

The first quarter of 2018 is completed.  Thus, I have completed the first ever quarter of my goal setting: setting them, recording them, and sharing my goals so I can hold myself accountable.

March was not the best month for me.  I fell significantly behind on my business and learning goals.   I know that I will need to have a strong April to get myself back on track to have a very successful and prosperous 2018.

My wins have been completing one 30 day challenge and making charitable contributions.  In addition, I did a letter to a stranger initiative as well.  Paying it forward is a fulfilling practice.  I cannot wait to continue to participate in that.

There are some goals where I will need to adjust the future deadlines on.  Yet, I am confident that I will get all these goals accomplished.

My February 2018 Monthly Goals Report

I can’t believe that two months have passed in 2018.  I know there have been some great accomplishments.  There are also some areas that I need to accelerate the gas pedal on to get back on pace to reach my goals.

Here are some of my wins:

30 day gratitude challenge completed

Getting back to near on pace blogging on missionfulfillment.com

Getting close to par on my goal of posting 85 YouTube videos for 2018

The biggest accomplishment is donating half of my goal of $1,000 to charities and organizations

Some of my goals that are not on pace:

Reading Goals

Learning Goals

I must manage my time much more effectively in order to get these goals accomplished.  I definitely remain committed to reaching these goals and certainly do not want to cram these areas in December.  The purpose of having goals is to work on them throughout the year and not for one month or week.

I would love to hear your feedback on thoughts.  I would also love to hear on how each of you doing on accomplishing your goal.
